Full 50hr Single Pilot Multi Engine Instrument Rating Course

This is the Academy’s most comprehensive IR course, comprising of ground school training, plus 40 hours synthetic flight training and a minimum of 10 hours flight training, it is one of the most challenging courses in the civilian world.    This helicopter rating is required for all commercial offshore operations and ever more onshore helicopter activities in Europe.

Castle Air Academy has instructors with in-depth and varied experience of working in offshore operations, air ambulance services and the CAA, who can provide students with state-of-the-art professional training.

Course Content

This course comprises an extensive ground school package followed by a minimum of 40 hours synthetic flight training in our AW109E FNPT II simulator and a minimum of 10 hours flight training in our AW109E helicopter.    The sim is an exact replica of our aircraft and all solo sim time is free of charge.

Course Duration

The course is undertaken over a 7-8 week period, including a separate Type Rating.
