COMMERCIAL PILOT CERTIFICATE (H) FAA

The FAA Helicopter Commercial Pilot Certificate permits an individual to fly a helicopter for commercial compensation or hire. It is a high level of training that prepares pilots for all types of commercial work within the worldwide helicopter industry. This course is particularly focused on developing aircraft captaincy skills.

On completion of the course a commercial pilot certificate (H) holder will have:
-Have at least 100 hours in powered aircraft, of which 50 must be in helicopters
-Have at least 100 hours of pilot-in-command (PIC) time, which includes at least-35 hours in helicopters
-10 hours in cross-country flight in helicopters
-Flown a minimum of 20 hours dual flight training including:
-5 hours instrument training
-Daytime and night time cross-countries
-Flown a minimum of 10 hours solo flight or 10 hours of flight time performing the duties of PIC with authorized instructor on board including:A cross-country flight with at least 50 nm straight line distance
-5 hours night with 10 takeoffs and landings
-Passed the commercial helicopter aeronautical knowledge exam (min 70% score)
-Passed a commercial practical test conducted by an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)


Training:

Knowledge training will be conducted by an FAA authorized instructor or through an appropriate home study course with review by instructor
Flight Training will be conducted in the Guimbal Cabri G2, based at our Tampa, Florida, USA base by an FAA authorized instructor


Pre-Course Requirements:

Be at least 18 years of age
Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
Hold at least a private pilot certificate
